U10 Mustangs Football (Crunchers)

A fun, safe, and confidence‑building introduction to tackle football

Welcome to U10 Mustangs Football — the perfect starting point for young athletes aged 8 and 9 who want to learn the game in a supportive, community‑focused environment. No experience is needed. Most of our players are brand new to football, and our coaches are trained to make the experience positive, safe, and exciting.

Who Can Play?

  • Boys and girls aged 8–9

  • No prior football experience required

  • All equipment provided by the club

  • Families from the St. Vital Mustangs catchment area

If your child is energetic, curious, and loves being part of a team, they’ll fit right in.

Team Format

U10 plays 6‑person football, which is ideal for beginners:

  • More touches on the ball

  • More space to run and learn

  • More opportunities to try different positions

  • Smaller rosters mean every player is involved

Roster size:

  • Minimum: 9 players

  • Maximum: 18 players

  • Warm‑ups and movement skills

  • Learning how to run, catch, block, and tackle safely

  • Small‑group drills

  • Short scrimmages

  • Lots of encouragement and high‑fives

Practices are usually 2–3 times per week, depending on coach availability and field access.

Games

U10 games are played on a smaller field (41 yards wide, 80 yards long) with certified officials.

Parents can expect:

  • A positive, family‑friendly atmosphere

Spectators sit on the designated side of the field to keep the sidelines safe and organized.
