The St. Vital Mustangs Midget Team will play the clubs
first-ever night game at Maple Grove Park on Saturday, September
21. Kickoff against the Raiders is set for 8:00 pm.
All Mustang families, friends and alumni are invited and
encouraged to attend this historic event.
“We’re very excited about playing at night,”
said Paul Nellis, VP of Field Operations and Past President
of the St. Vital Mustangs. "It’s generating a
lot of excitement with our players, parents and fans and
it should be a great night for our football club.”
The St. Vital Mustangs added lights in the spring as part
of their field revitalization project. The total cost of
the project was about $420,000 and was funded by the three
levels of government.

Peewee Provincial Champions
The St. Vital Mustangs Peewee Black team
(ages 11& 12) celebrated their win over the Charleswood
Broncos Gold team 22 -1 during the Footbal Manitoba
Championship Weekend held at Canad Inns Stadium on Sunday,
November 1, 2009. The Peewee Black team went undefeated
throughout the season and allowed only 26 points during
the regular eight game season. The game MVP was awarded
to Matthew Gunhouse.
Congratulations to all the player's and coaches on their
championship victory!

Mustang Teams participate at Championship Weekend
Six
Mustang Teams - PeeWee Black, Midget and our four Terminator
Teams participated at the 2009 Provincial Championship
Weekend. All Mustang teams made the playoffs this year
making 2009 a very successful and proud year for the
football club. Our congratulatons go out to all Mustang
teams on a great season!

Mustangs
receive funding for field upgrades
The St. Vital Mustang
Football Club will be receiving $420,000 in funding
to buy new lights for its football field.
A federal contribution amount of $138,600 will come
from the Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC) program
and both the city and the province will also be making
contributions towards the project.
"The St. Vital
Mustangs are very pleased with the announcment of this
funding to help support our field upgrade project,"
said Club President Paul Nellis. "This commitment
from all three levels of government will help provide
a top-quality, safe environment for amateur football
in our community for many years to come."
The lighting project is expected to be completed in
2010.
