West Parking Lot Update

Hi Mustangs Families,

On behalf of the St. Vital Mustangs Football Club I want to send out an explanation to reply to questions raised by our members, and minor football families in relation to the use of the west parking lot.

In the past, we have jointly used the west parking area with our Disc Sport neighbours as an overflow area for game days, and some overflow practice evening parking.

With the growth of all activities in the park, including expanded rugby, touch football, MODS leagues, the dog park use, and our own football use it’s become evident that parking is becoming a difficult issue when all activities are in full swing. The disc sports people have spent money, and effort in maintaining, and regulating this parking area for their users, and have placed a gate to protect and secure their equipment and deter off hours loitering and vandalism. We are in discussion with the City of Winnipeg Parks, the MODS,  and the users of Maple Grove Park to work jointly with them in allowing our families, and fans to use this parking area on expected busy game days.

We are also pursuing other options to alleviate the parking problems, such as another lot, and shared uses for the future.

Until these options, or notification of joint use is shared with the Mustangs families, please do not park in the west parking lot.

If you require special physical access for fans, and family members, there is reserved parking spots for that intent at the top of the ramp, and allowance for persons to sit and watch the games from the berm will be made.

Please notify us, and make us aware in advance to try and reserve this area for these persons.

Thank-you for your support, and understanding regarding our parking concerns.

Respectfully yours,

Craig Bachynski
