President's Message

As the tradition continues, I welcome you all to another season of Mustang Football. For all of you that are returning it is good to see you back and for you that are new to our organization welcome to the “Mustang Family”. Over the past few months we have spent many hours nursing and watering our fields ensuring that our teams will play on one of the best fields around. Many thanks go to those who have contributed both time and sweat to this labour of love. Keeping with our philosophy, providing our players the best opportunities to perform, we have hosted a very successful Youth Camp, the Under 18 Provincial camp, provided practice field time for teams competing in the Red River Cup and have began to develop a coaches resources room at our facility. As we look ahead, September and October will be very busy months for the Mustangs. September 7, 8 and 9^th is our Family Fun Weekend with all teams playing at home. Join us, as we host two night games, one on Friday and one on Saturday, a pancake breakfast, kids entertainment, beer gardens and of course, our Mustang Social. This season will see a new initiative introduced that will see all teams having to appoint a parent liaison for all games. This is being done to try and negate the heckling and abuse aimed at our officials. It goes without saying that without the people in stripes the game could not be played. This year the officials have made it very clear that they will penalize all offending teams if they cannot control their fan’s behavior. The Mustangs support this stance and I would ask you in advance to respect the officials for the decisions they make whether we like them or not. We need your help in ensuring that the St Vital Mustangs continue to provide high quality football programming for the youth of our community. If you are a Mustang alumnus (players, coaches, board members), join our ever growing Alumni base by signing up below.

Our 65^thAnniversary Dinner was held in March 2013 and it was a great success. Thanks to all that attended and to those involved with putting on the event. The next planned event is our 8th Annual Alumni Golf Tournament on June 13th, 2013. Click here for more details and registration info.

We're currently creating a database of all past Mustangs and we'd like to hear from you. We are also interested in any Mustang photos, etc. that you have from past years and would like to share with us. Many would be highlighted on this website and at other functions.
